Thank you for your interest in my book. This free book is for customers who we have already worked for. If you are interested in purchasing a copy you can do so here.
“Furniture for the future” was written by myself to highlight the urgent need to change our buying habits and to chose more sustainable materials and companies that offer these options. As you know our planet is not finite, and it is in a state that is much worse than many of use realise. That is why I have decided to showcase the various options offered by different home interior furnishing providers, different materials that are suitable for building bespoke fitted furniture as well as a general overview of the World and the urgency that we are in.
If you look around you, you could easily think that all is fine and that everything will last forever, but did you know that according to Richard Attenborough, we are loosing an area of the rainforest the size of a football pitch every single second? So what you may think, or there is plenty left!? At this rate there will be none left within the lifetime of your grand children, and if you consider that the Rainforest is the greatest treasure trove the World has, then you will realise that everything has to be done to stop it’s destruction now before it’s all gone.
The rainforest is one of the most diverse places on earth, it holds more species of plants, trees and animals than anywhere on earth. Most of our fruit, nuts and veg originated from the Rainforest. Most of our medicines originated from plants that come from there, and only a very small proportion of the plants and their properties have yet to be discovered, it is a treasure chest, and it may well be the key to our future survival.
That is why I am so passionate to do everything as a company to stop this, including writing this book, we source wood that does not come from anywhere near a Rainforest, and we also buy up acres of the Rainforest on behalf of our customers to ensure it is preserved forever. We do this through the World Land Trust.
The rainforest if just one of the many things I talk bout in the book because it is the thing that really makes my blood boil, but there are many other things to consider such as using renewable energy to stop the pollution of our air, water, land, food and ultimately our bodies. To use materials that are naturally and don’t contain nasty chemicals that are all round our home and slowly but surely infiltrate our bodies through our skin, the air we breathe and the food we eat. That is why our office uses 100% renewable energy offered by Good Energy and that is why we offer alternatives such as paints that are made from plants.
We need to support companies that operate ethically too, support banks that don’t invest in arms and drugs or nuclear, that is why we use ethical banking.
I hope that you enjoy this book and that it will inspire you in some way and make you see the World in a new way.
The books tag line “What you buy can change the World” really sums up that we have a choice, and we have the power, not governments, not big companies who think they can get away with forcing what they want on us, we are the ones that choose to spend our money with them and we can change the World with how we use our money. We hold the power.
